This expressway is a fully enclosed two-way six-lane road with a length of 34.995km and bed width of 33.5m, to be joined with the Yangtze River Bridge in Jiangyin in the north and the Shanghai Nanjing Express way in the south.

PROJECT:REGIONAL WATER SUPPLY

PROJECT OUTLINE:
This project is expected to pipe a supplementary amount of tap water to a evergrowing consumer community beyond 2000. Raw water will be taken from the Yangtze River. The distribution system includes 2.5km of DN3000 crude water pipeline, 25km of DN3000-1400 cleaned water pepeline and 145km of DN2000-700 clean water extensions, in addition to network super-charging stations and a reservoir. Stage One per-day yield will reach one million tons and two million by 2010.

AN INTRODUCTORY NOTE ON THE LOCAL PARTNER:
Jiangyin City Tap Water Co. is under the jurisdiction of Wuxi Public Utilities Bureau. This project, to be implemented by these two entities, is of top importance to improving the water quality of the rapidly developing southern Jiangsu area and satisfying the demand of economic growth. With its intake from the Yangtze River bend at Jiangyin, the tap water supply is expected to cover the Yangtze River valley in Jiangsu, and northen Wuxi, of which northeast Wujin County is a part. A total of 61 cities and townships will be benefited in an area of 1,740km². It is planned that the final capacity will reach four million tons per day but it will be started from one million tons per day at stage one.

PROJECT: THE NEW DISTRICT SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT

IMPLEMENTED BY: WUXI NEW DISTRICT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORP.

PROJECT OUTLINE:
A new sewage treatment plant will be built in the New District in accordance with the general planning of the city of Wuxi, and required by the demand of the growing New District. Stage One capacity shall be 50,000 metric tons per dayand in the year 2010 it is expected to reach 200,000 to 250,000 metric tons a day.
