The renowned Fuchun River stretches itself through the green and
luxuriant hills like a clear green jade ribbon. The most tantalizing
section of the quiet and beautiful river is in Tonglu. Upstream, the
seven--li section of the river can be compared with the Three Gorges
Along the Yangtze River in terms of natural beauty, while the section
from Yanling to Zhaixi is dotted with tranquil villages and trees
on both banks. In additon, along the Fuchun River, visitors can enjoy delightful weather in all
four seasons. The scenery is likened to a unitary whole
of painting and poetry.
The 23-- kilometer section of the Fuchun River winding the valley
from Meicheng to Fuchunjiang Town has a beauty tha equals that of the
Three Gorges Along the Yangtze River; hence the name the Little Tri--
Gorge Along the Fuchun River. The river runs like a mirror inlaid between
the jade--like mountains. The tourist attrations along the river are
Meicheng Town, Twi--Pagoda Piercing the Clouds, Zixu Ferry, Gourd--Shaped
Waterfalls, Seven Li of Sailing Boats and Yan Ziling Angling Terrace.
The newly-- developed paradise on the water in the Three Gorges Along
the Fuchun River is a combination of sightseeing and modern civilized
entertainment.
The angling lslet, slantingly opposite Yan Ziling Angling Terace, is
an ideal place for angling whitefish, breams and mandarin fish. Its 200-
odd angling positions attract many an angler and its charming scenery has
tempted quite a number of famous artists to paint from it to enhance its
reputation. The tourist spots in the islet include the Qingfen Pavilion,
the Watching-Fish Terrace and sculptures of an old angler and a young
fisherfolk playing with water. Actually the Luci Bay was named after
cormorants, which were used to catch fish in the old times.
