Development and Opening
Shaoxing is one of the cities to be planned first and developed first in the south of the Yangtze River Delta determined by China's State Council. Up to now, it has established direct trade ties with 105 countries and regions, and sister city and friendly exchange relationships with 10 cities in foreign countries. At present, there are 5 provincial economic development zones, a provincial tourism development zone and a new hitech development zone in Shaoxing. It neighbors Hangzhou and Ningbo Airports, and urban Shaoxing is only 30 kilometers from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport planned to be built soon. Post and Telecommunications Shaoxing City has installed a digital telecom network of internationally advanced standard, with direct dial service available to 186 countries and regions in the world. Visual telephone and express postal delivery services are also available.
